Village pubs are central to community life and the St Dunstan is no different. In 2025, the owners of Langley’s village pub, the St Dunstan Inn, put the pub up for sale and local residents launched a community buyout to give residents, local businesses and the wider community the opportunity to collectively own the pub in a way that puts people before profits and keeps the pub as a community space with a long future ahead of it.
The Langley Community Society Limited (LCS Ltd) was established as a Community Benefit Society registered with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). The Society was formed to facilitate the community ownership of the sole remaining pub in Langley village, an historic public house which has served the village for over two centuries.
The St Dunstan Inn is now under community ownership and at present, the Langley Community Society along with a whole host of volunteers, are running the pub in a caretaking role until a tenant is found. Support by the community and an anonymous backer who generously agreed to purchase the freehold property, enabled the community to focus on acquiring and operating the business of The St Dunstan Inn.
We are still offering shares giving the opportunity for individuals, families and organisations to become part-owners of the pub by purchasing shares in Langley Community Society Limited.
To buy shares, go the Apply for Shares section of the website. Each share will be £250. You can buy one or more shares or even buy a share as a group or family.
We are now looking to appoint a tenant who will not only run a great pub but who shares our vision of it as a welcoming, inclusive space that serves the whole community.
We want The St Dunstan to thrive as a hub for connection, culture, and wellbeing — hosting local groups, activities, and events that bring people together and strengthen village life.
By owning the pub together, we protect it together — for today, for tomorrow, and for the future of our village.

We are now seeking expressions of interest to run our pub.
